Auxiliary Services¶

Introduction¶

THe main purpose of the UFIT Research Computing hardware resources and support is enabling researchers to analyse large amounts of data, train machine learning models, and teach students. "HiPerGator" and "HiPerGator-AI" are the main computational resources that represent tens of thousands of CPU cores, thousands of GPUs, and petabytes of data on large parellel filesystems that are available for use towards that goal. In addition, thousands of installed applications and robust user support are needed to help researchers utilize the hardware and achieve success in their work. However, there are additional needs of the contemporary scince at a premier research university that the classic HPC approach described above is not sufficient for.
